Our Awards

Sun Connect Awards

It’s been a big year for Sun Connect either winning or being a Top 5 Finalist in the 3 major business awards in Australia. Not only did award judges require entrants to comprise fiscal merit they also required award nominees to be ethical, future proofed, employers of choice and actively involved in the wider industry and community.

First and foremost, we are in the business of designing and installing Australia’s safest, and highest quality panels, but recognition from our peers, as well as the prestigious organisations mentioned below, validates our business and hopefully builds trust and recognition amongst our current and prospective customers.

2011 Finalist BRW ANZ Private Business awards

BRW ANZ Private Business awards 2011

In August we became a National Top 5 finalist for the BRW ANZ Private Business awards, which formally recognises the contribution Private Businesses make to the Australian economy.

The awards highlight the spirit of entrepreneurship, leadership and business acumen, and acknowledge outstanding achievements and are judged by a panel of industry and academic experts.

Being acknowledged as one of BRWs Private Businesses of the Year, in only our 3rd year of operation, was a fantastic validation of our business model and a strong indicator of our company’s success. BRW is the leader in understanding the private business sector so being recognised in this forum gave our organisation further credibility amongst our peers and a reputable profile within the business community.

2011 Winner West Australian Rising Star Award

Western Australian Rising Star Award

Sun Connect was also announced as a Western Australian Rising Star Award winner in June this year.
The quality of entrants of the 2011 awards was diverse, with winners coming from industries such as health, finance, recruitment, food, oil, gas and mining. Sun Connect was the only company short listed in the solar energy space.

All nominees had to obviously reach a fiscal prerequisite to be even allowed to apply for nomination, and couldn’t be any more than 4 years in operation.

Nomination questions were quite diverse including asking about our:

  • History
  • Growth story
  • Customer charter
  • Product proposition
  • Positioning strategies
  • Future planning
  • Tools for effectively adapting to changing times and conditions
  • Employment strategy
  • Impact on the community

Having started in a garage in WA only 3 years ago, we’ve always had an affinity with our home state, where our growing HQ is still situated. To be recognised at our home ground by some of WA’s most influential business minds was a real boost for everyone involved in the company and it was of particular honour to be associated with some of the most respected business entities Western Australia has to offer. It’s a great reward and acknowledgement for all our staff that have worked tirelessly to produce what is now considered one of the best solar panels solutions Australia has to offer.

2011 Winner Australian Business Award – Enterprise Category

2011 Australian Business Award – Enterprise CategoryThis year Sun Connect was also recognised among Australia’s most progressive organisations, winning the 2011 Australian Business Award – Enterprise Category.

The Australian Business Awards challenges the full spectrum of private, public and non-profit sector organisations in Australia through its comprehensive business and product award categories.

Now in its sixth year, the Australian Business Awards program recognises organisations that demonstrate the core values of business excellence, product excellence, corporate responsibility, sustainability and commercial success in their respective industries. A total of 928 organisations participated in the 2011 Awards.

All three awards have been great recognition and vindication of our business model and performance, and a great addition to our credentials. This is a credit to each and every one of our staff and a credit to our perseverance in what has been a tough, but rewarding, industry.

2011 Winner Australian Business Quality Awards - Customer Service Category

Our final award we received for 2011 was our ABQA Customer Service Award.

This award is testimony to our dedication and focus on excellent customer service. The judging is done on the basis of customer experiences in relation to our customer service standards – our standards are therefore evaluated. There are 3 award categories:

Bronze – achieve a score between 70% and 80%.

Silver – achieve a score between 80% and 90%.

Gold – achieve a score of 90% plus.

The Gold award is the most prestigious award that can be bestowed on a company. The significance of this award (all the awards we have) is that:

  • It increases our reputation and credibility.
  • It not only gives us recognition amongst our industry peers; it also informs prospective customers that they are being served by the best.
  • It provides publicity and media exposure which promotes our company and more importantly the solar industry itself.

The achievement of this prestigious award is the culmination of a very determined effort to ensure that the sales loop is complete. Long term relationships with customers can only succeed if a resolute strategy is in place to interact with customers after the sale is done. To this end, our 5 hallmarks of differentiation, coupled with the fact that we are the only solar company that provides a 5 year customer service guarantee not only sets us apart from our competitors, hence our positioning statement, premium quality, premium service.
